Rado watches have cornered the niche for upmarket watches that are different from more traditional Swiss watches. Rado watches stand out from other watches because of Rado’s use of new, modern materials and striking design. Rado were the first to produce the world’s first truly scratch-proof watch; the DiaStar.

If you’re looking for a top rated, beautiful watch that’s a little different to other comparable watches, then you should take a look at the current collection of Rado watches. I love Rado watches because of the unusual, modern materials that are used. Rado watches are made from materials such as scratch proof ceramic, caoutchouc and Hard Metal.

What is a Watch Winder, and, are all watch winders the same?
A watch winder is a device designed to wind up an automatic watch when it is not worn by the owner; so that the watch is ready to be worn by the owner any time.
NOT all watch winders are the same. Before buying a watch winder, one should consider the following:
1. An automatic watch winder should provide the three full turning directions so that, no matter what types of watches youI have now or in the future, the watch winder will fit the specifications. The 3 turning directions are: Clockwise, Counter-clockwise, and Alternate. “Alternate” means the watch winder will automatically turn clockwise and counterclockwise alternately. Watch brands such as Rolex requires this Alternate turning mode.
2. An automatic watch winder should provide the industry standard “Turn-and-Rest” programming. That is, it should turn for a period of time, then rest for a period of time. This cycle should repeat automatically until the watch is fully, or close to fully wind up. There should be little or no human intervention required. That is, an automatic watch winder should be controlled by an IC electronic programming, to control all the above functions.
The above are the minimum requirements one should consider when buying a watch winder. Without the above functions, you might run into the risk of over-stressing your watch; and reducing the long term mechanical life of your fine timepiece.
Other factors to consider are the material used to construct the winder. Is it made of real wood, or cheap thin particle board? Not all wood are the same grade or of the same quality. Many inexpensive cheap winders are made of thin untreated particle board, which is not durable and is easily deformed or broken. If you own an expensive timepiece, it is not recommended to use those inexpensive lower quality winders.
Remember, cost should not be the only considerations when buying a watch winder . After all, you have spent hundreds or thousands of dollars invest in a fine timepiece. You should investigate thoroughly when buying a watch winder, and to make sure the winder is indeed compatible with your automatic watch, and won’t harm your watches in the long term.

Contrary to popular belief, it is not difficult to understand how smart watches work. The backend, or “brain” of the watches are powered by Smart Personal Object Technology (SPOT), a technology introduced by Microsoft in 2002. Like television or radio, the content is transmitted through FM broadcasting. By combining these two technologies, smart watch owners are able to access news, weather, sports, horoscopes, Microsoft Outlook, MSN Instant Messenger, and other features on these smart watches.

Collecting watches have become a growing hobby with many around the world today; their beauty and timeless elegance attract both the young and elderly alike. The quality of some brand name vintage watches makes them indestructible and thus the collection can be passed on from generation to generation. However there are many deceptive people out there that know authentic vintage watches are very hard to come by and at times manage to duplicate or fraud some into buying one. Here are a few points, which hopefully will help you always purchase an authentic vintage watch. Get to Know What Makes a Vintage Watch Every single watch brand has its own specifics through which it is more or less unique such as a marking in the inside mechanism or a piece of jewelry on a particular part of it or the type of movement and so on. Getting to know what makes a particular vintage watch special will help you be able to tell the difference between the fake and the authentic version. There are many instances when vintages watches have been swapped around for example, a different movement in a vintage case and if you are not familiar with the same you will not know what to look and/or ask for. Replacing is a big industry and some don’t stop at the pieces you cannot see, they will even go up to replacing pieces such as the worn hands of a vintage watch with something old but not its authentic piece. Again the only way to tell the difference is to be very familiar with what the original should look like. Where to Look for Authentic Vintage Watches To gather knowledge about a particular vintage watch you should look on the internet where everything will be listed in detail; you may even be able to get in touch with the company if it still exists and ask them for other signs that will give away an inauthentic vintage watch. Vintage watches are very expensive and once you have purchased it, it may be difficult to return it on the charge that a piece was replaced as the seller can blame you for the same. Therefore, prevention is always better than cure and you should take all possible measures that you possibly can especially if you are a collector and are looking forward to expand your collection.
